A Very Busy Week!

Enterprise Week

Due to how busy our class company have been throughout the week, the blog unfortunately is unfinished. Therefore, Oscar and Thomas (our bloggers for this week) will carry on and write the blog for the first week back.

Enterprise week has proved a fun, exciting and very worthwhile project, providing the children with so many new learning opportunities.

The children worked out the budget, with the £30 given to us, Negotiated letting and rental costs with Ms Buckley, Advertised their product, Marketed their product, Produced over 400 cakes (with a lot of help from Mrs Marriott, Mrs Hewitt and Mrs Geddes), and diligently organised the day excellently.

The hall was buzzing with excitement throughout the whole afternoon, and the children demonstrated a caring and helpful attitude towards the younger children, aiding them in giving the correct amount of money.

All children took their roles responsibly, turning up to their shift on time, with some children working overtime.

I want to say a massive congratulations to all the children involved for embracing this project, and working so hard throughout the whole half term.

It has been a long term, and I think that the children have had an excellent start to Year 6, setting a superb example to the whole school, and leading by example.

Have a restful half term.

Moon Buggy Update

This week on Monday we made a huge step foward with some people even getting to stick the motor on and their circuits on. We also had our first people start decorating their moon buggy and even testing it on a test course made up out of the floor and rubber bands.

Music

In music this week we put both hands together on the James Bond theme tune. Some of us found it a bit hard so we went back over the basics and we got it in the end.

James has worked hard and has managed to finish the whole theme tune from james bond using BOTH hands!

The song of the week this week is.....musical memories which we started to learn on Wednesday;  this song is already a favourite in songters as they have performed it in front of the school.

We look forward to music next week!

A Note From Mr Edwards

What a busy and action packed week we have had this week!

Our filming is nearly complete, and we have shared a few laughs over some of the "Out takes" of the films. These are all looking good, and I am sure will shape into good films after half term, when we start turning them into movies, using Movie Maker.

A few reminders:

- Christmas card designs and orders need to be in on Monday if you wanted to take part in the Christmas Card Project.

- We all completed face portraits today for the Willow Class Canvas Bag - there is an order form sent via email.

Enterprise Week - Next Week

Dont forget to come and support us in our fantastic project. We will be working towards the business side of this next week - and will be mass producing 2 types of cakes. So don't eat and save yourselves for our fantastic cakes on Friday.

Have a good weekend,

Mr Edwards

Film Stars Update

This week in litracy we carried on with our films and each group filmed about 2 scenes for their films
On friday it was our last chance to film our movies and luckily we all added the finishing touches to our scenes.
We have all worked really hard on our movies and hope they turn out well; if we are lucky, we may get an extra session to revisit scenes next week.
